At Unilever, we are committed to leading the way in sustainability within the retail and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sectors. Our recent Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing through the Majid Al Futtaim Retail Supplier Sustainability Forum, marks a significant step towards this important cause.
This pledge, witnessed by Her Excellency Mariam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Almheiri, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, and our Head of Arabia, Khalil Yassine, was signed at COP28 among 16 FMCG partners endorsing the Collaborative Impact Goals (CIGs) of the Supplier Sustainability Forum. This alliance is a testament to our dedication to sustainability, as we work alongside the UAE's Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCA) and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce to set new standards for sustainability in retail.
By signing a strategic pledge, we aim to significantly reduce our environmental footprint and encourage sustainable practices industry-wide.Together, we are not only futureproofing our operations but also contributing to the well-being of our planet and local communities. This is a pivotal moment for Unilever as we continue to drive positive change and demonstrate our leadership in sustainable business practices.
