A post has been trending on some social media sites in the past few days claiming that Lipton Tea "Extra Strong" contains harmful additives. Lipton confirms that this information is wrong. The Lipton tea sold in the MENA region is manufactured in the company's local manufacturing facilities located in the United Arab of Emirates and in the Arab Republic of Egypt. Our factories are monitored by the Food Health Inspection Department of the Dubai Municipality and the Laboratory of the Central Administration of the Ministry of Health of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Attached is the Certificate of Analysis issued by the Ministry of Health for Lipton Tea “Extra Strong” stating that Lipton tea is compliant to the Egyptian standards 559 for the year 2005 and which states that the basic requirements for the tea is for the product to be free from any color additives. Also enclosed is the analysis that confirms the compliance to this standard, and to the International ISO standards No.3720/1986.

We are issuing this statement, reiterating the safety of Lipton tea and supporting it with all the relevant documents in the interests of Lipton consumer, while highlighting the fact that false allegations without the support of substantial facts is against the law.
