NAME Eco-Efficiency
The Unilever North Africa Middle East region has taken huge steps over the years to create sustainable initiatives in manufacturing while maintaining the highest level of quality in its products.
SHEQ Eco-Efficiency in Manufacturing
Unilever is keen on providing a safe environment for employees and the community at large while minimizing its environmental foot print. Across NAME, the SHEQ team has followed a very rigorous and successful plan that has lead to a better and safer environment both inside and outside of Unilever.
At Unilever NAME, we are careful about our factories’ waste and its affect on the environment. Not all of our waste products are bad for the environment, as a large part of our manufacturing is in Foods & Beverages. Naturally Foods & Beverages are degradable materials and therefore do not pose a risk to the environment as non-biodegradable materials do. That is why we are keen on recycling any waste that could damage the environment, as well as, use recyclable materials in packaging.
Unilever is also aware of the importance of energy conservation and uses energy efficient equipment, such as, sensor machinery and special lighting. In line with our commitment to Continual Improvement, Unilever is always on the lookout for ways to improve and build on its accomplishments.
We also work hard to reduce emissions coming out of factories created by the natural process of operation. Likewise, we also have also reduced emissions from our transport modes.
Unilever is keen on providing the best quality and responding with an open mind to our consumers’ needs to improve our products with eco-efficient initiatives.
Employee Safety
Our vision is to secure that all of our employees are working in a safe condition at all times. Our focus on travel is to provide safe working environments at any location and safe modes of transportation as well. We are able to ensure the safety of both by a thorough follow up on employees’ behaviours, with a close eye on driving behaviours, providing training as necessary.
Our safety precautions are not just to ensure the well being of our employees, but to guarantee the well being of our neighbours, as well, which in turn contributes to an overall safer community for everyone.
