Helping the world smile by looking after teeth
Unilever recognises that healthy teeth are an important part of personal vitality and wellbeing, helping you to be happy, confident and live life to the full.
This is why, to help safeguard the oral health of children across the world, we formed our partnership with the Fédération Dentaire Internationale (FDI).
The FDI is an international federation representing 700 000 individual dentists. Our agreement includes the use of the FDI logo and supportive statement on our product packs and in campaigns.
The partnership will fund a range of initiatives by National Dental Associations in 37 countries, helping to ensure that better oral care starts at grass-roots level.
We've already reached more than 1.5 million children in Italy through local school visits by dentists, while in Nigeria, we have provided dental equipment and funded free dental checks for around 10 000 people. Here our Nutrition and Dental Health Schools Campaign aims to educate two million people about oral health over the next five years.
In a separate project, we are working with the University of Liverpool to study ways to achieve long-term change in tooth brushing practices among children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
