Graduate recruitment process

Although rigorous, our selection process is not a test to see who can survive the strain, but is a series of opportunities for you to demonstrate your leadership potential and fit with Unilever.

The application form

Our selection process begins with an application form. This is your first opportunity to make an impact. Its importance cannot be over-emphasized. It is solely on the strength of this application that the decision to proceed is made.

The form provides crucial background information for the selectors. As you would expect, much of it concentrates on your personal details, education, activities and interests. But the section that stops most people in their tracks is the one headed 'competency based questions'. Why ask this? Because we are looking for evidence of leadership from your past experiences.

Tests

We conduct aptitude and psychometric tests to get objective, reliable and relevant information on candidates. Preparing for the test through practice can help improve your performance. Download a sample test form from the link below.

Interviews

The first interview is normally held in your home country. Its purpose is two fold: to allow you to learn about us and vice versa. The interview will last about an hour and covers considerable amount of ground. Our best advice is to come prepared.

Selection board

The selection board lasts an entire day and covers a wide range of activities. You will be engaged in group and individual exercises along with a group of other finalist candidates. A selection committee comprised of Unilever Senior Managers evaluates a candidate’s potential, and final selection decisions are drawn based on the selection board activities.
