Raising oral hygiene standards for the young
We also invest resources in encouraging the young to look after their oral health. This includes a new range, Signal Xperience, designed to meet the needs of the young, plus initiatives to promote higher standards of oral hygiene, usually in association with dentists and other oral healthcare experts. In Italy, for example, Signal sponsors oral care education for children and free dental check-ups as part of Dental Prevention Month.
Schools programme
Signal also plays a major role in promoting early brushing in many developing countries through its schools programme. At the same time, the brand has developed strong relationships with local governments, as well as dentists associations. The scheme forms part of Live. Learn. Laugh, Unilever’s global partnership with the World Dental Federation (FDI), which aims to improve oral health all over the world through practical, sustainable community programmes.
Unilever Arabia & oral health
In partnership with the National Dental Associations of the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC), Unilever Arabia has recently launched a comprehensive oral health program across the region.
The campaign includes funding local dental conferences for dental professionals committed to public health, including exclusive sponsorship of the Gulf Scientific Dental conference for the next five years.
The aim of these activities is to increase public awareness on the importance of oral health as well as stimulate collaboration among the dental professional community to promote oral health care in the community.
