Rotana cinema brings Lux Fashion World to Arab homes

Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – 17 March 2007 – Lux today announced its exclusive agreement with Rotana Cinema, one of the Rotana TV group of channels, for the airing of Lux Fashion World, a fashion and beauty event that allows each woman to embrace their own unique style.

Held in Beirut, Lebanon, the major fashion event included an array of renowned Arab designers who presented a captivating collection for the year 2007 to Arab women with a theme of individuality and the reflection of inner beauty. Lux Fashion World is considered the leading show for fashion and beauty in the region.

“We are very pleased to announce our partnership with Rotana TV which will add importance Lux Fashion World. Lux’s vision of beauty inspires women to enjoy their own unique looks, starting from hair styling and makeup to fashion and accessories,” said Ian Potter, Vice-president Unilever Arabia.

“As a TV station, we always aspire to present what is new and what matches our viewer’s preferences around the world. Lux Fashion World has always had a very distinguished crowd including popular artists and important society personalities. We are happy to announce the airing of this popular event. The first episode will be aired tonight at 8:00 pm, KSA time,” according to Rotana spokesperson.

From world-renowned to emerging, the designers each captured the region’s cultural distinctiveness in the elite world of fashion and beauty. The event also featured a hair and make up show highlighting the latest trends in makeup and hair styles for 2007.

Nicholas Gibran, the famous Lebanese designer presented his Haute Couture collection. His tiger print designs stressed the self confidence and inner beauty of women. 

Nawaf Al Bader, the prominent Kuwaiti designer presented his collection of eye-catching evening dresses and captivating wedding gowns. As a gesture of goodwill and support to Lebanon, he showcased a wedding dress symbolizing peace through its design that incorporated the Kuwaiti flag and a white pigeon.

The Saudi Arabian talented designer Sarah Al Baker stunned her audiences with her collection.  Her designs combined both radiant and bright colors inspired from women in the old ages through simplicity, softness and femininity.

Hanan Al Madani, the emerging Saudi designer presented her collection under the theme ‘fantasy does not end’.  Her designs focused on simplicity and elegance. 

Hani Al Beheiry, the celebrated and prominent Egyptian fashion designer presented his individualized designs under the Lux theme ‘Play with Beauty’.

He presented dazzling designs that reflects playfulness and fun. For the fifth year in a row, he surprised his audience with the well known Egyptian actress, Dalia Al Beheiry wearing a stunning dress from his famed wedding collection

The Grand Finale of Lux Fashion World was presented by the famous Lebanese designer George Hubeika who presented his modern designs in a creative manner combining the culture of the East and West. His inspiration was from the beauty of Arab woman. As a sign of appreciation he showcased a beautiful purple silk dress inspired by and named Lux.

To add some fun and pleasure, Lux Fashion World presented hair styling and makeup sessions by Lebanese stylists Simon Mandalaq, Joseph Karak, Samir Asmar, Younes Eid and Lutfi Barbari and from Egypt Mohamad Al Saghir.

LUX Fashion World will be aired over twelve 20 minute episodes. The episodes will be aired on a daily basis from Saturday 17 March until Wednesday for a period of two weeks at 8:00 PM KSA time. The final two episodes will be aired on Saturday and Sunday of the third week.
